ViVet is managed by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS), the regulator of veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses in the UK.
Under the programme the RCVS is making specific regulatory advice and guidance available to veterinary professionals working at the forefront of innovation or those from outside the profession seeking to bring new products or services to the veterinary or animal health market.
In the longer term ViVet will help the RCVS to gain insights into the animal health market and how it is evolving, allowing the College to develop a regulatory framework that is adaptable to 21st century technology whilst continuing to protect animal health and welfare. To this end the RCVS is exploring a range of new measures that could be introduced within its regulatory remit to support and foster innovation.
